Explore the scenic and versatile Westchase District trail system, a 5-mile network perfect for joggers, cyclists, dog walkers, and pedestrians. Open daily from dawn to dusk, these trails offer a safe and enjoyable way to connect with nature and your community while staying active.

Trail Highlights

  • Powerline Trail: Start at Westheimer, just east of Houston Community College’s Hayes Road campus. This 0.6-mile trail runs through the powerline corridor, connecting to Richmond via a mid-block crossing at Meadowglen.
  • Library Loop Trail: Access this 1.35-mile trail near the Robinson-Westchase Library (3223 Wilcrest Dr.) and enjoy its butterfly garden, free exercise equipment, and vibrant murals by local artists. Parking is available at the library and West Houston Assistance Ministries (10501 Meadowglen).
  • Brays Bayou Connector Trail: Running 1.92 miles south from Richmond Avenue to Bellaire Boulevard, this off-street trail includes underpasses at Westpark Drive, Westpark Tollway, Harwin, and Bellaire. It connects seamlessly to Art Storey Park and has a bridge that will connect you to the Brays Bayou Greenway.

  • Exercise Stations: Stay fit with workout equipment along the Library Loop Trail (north side near Rogerdale) and Brays Bayou Connector Trail (south of Harwin).
  • Amenities: Informational spikes highlight local history and ecology, while emergency phones and a self-help bike repair station ensure a safe experience.

Camden Park Access

The library loop trail connects seamlessly into Camden Park via paved trail and a beautiful steel bridge.

Water Habitat

Located at the beginning of Library Loop Trail on Wilcrest Drive, next to Camden Park, the habitat is home to dozens of turtles, fish and other aquatic life.

Trailside Park

Trailside Park features a picnic table, water fountain (with pup cup), fixed seating area and a  ZipKrooz, a playground zip line that allows children to safely and smoothly glide back and forth along a 30-foot track. The park is located just north of Richmond Avenue along Westchase District’s HCC Campus Trail, which also connects to Library Loop Trail (perfect for joggers and dog walkers).

Butterfly Garden

Immediately adjacent to the exercise station on the Library Loop Trail, Westchase District has cultivated a butterfly garden brimming with flowers and plants that create a habitat where butterflies can lay their eggs and feed.

Exercise Stations

A four-piece exercise station is installed on the north side of the Library Loop Trail, about a quarter-mile from the eastern trail entrance on Rogerdale. A second exercise station is located on the Brays Bayou Connector trail just south of Harwin.
