After breaking ground last year, a major multifamily development built by McNair Interests is opening its doors to its first residents.
McNair Interests, a real estate developer and private investment and management company, has nearly completed construction of Remy on the Trails, Westchase District’s newest multifamily residence.
Located at 10421 Deerwood Road at the West Sam Houston Tollway, Remy on the Trails has 400,000 square feet of living space for lease in the first phase. With land purchased from Cameron International Corporation in 2020, McNair Interests built the 330-unit multifamily community offering one- and two-bedroom apartment options in three, four-story buildings.
A banner hanging on the property’s fence reads “Curate your living.” Taking a nature-centric approach to landscaping and design, McNair Interests’ premiere property will let you do just that. The property is high-tech, amenity-rich, and vibrant. The 24-acre residential development showcases best-in-class housing by featuring next generation amenities in an urban oasis setting.
A touch of Hill Country and thoughtful amenities in the District
“Designed during the COVID work-from-home era, Remy on the Trails was planned to create an oasis in the city – giving residents a location convenient to work centers, while providing unparalleled green-space typically only experienced further outside city limits,” said Drew Steffen, McNair’s senior vice president, real estate.
The private 3-acre lake includes a walking/running trail that is one-third mile in distance. Residents can fish on the lake from a large central dock from which kayaks and paddle boards can be launched. Remy on the Trails’ close proximity and access to the area’s trails inspired and informed its landscape design, reflecting a Hill Country feel. The community is built around outdoor livability that appeals to healthy lifestyles.
Indoor-outdoor ambiance comes together as well. Residents will find expansive lounges with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows which fill spacious areas with warm, natural lighting. The concept accentuates spaces where residents can relax and socialize outside of their apartments.
Personalized conveniences like integrated technology
“Our fitness center was designed with traditional indoor equipment plus newer technology including virtual training mirrors,” said Steffen. “We thoughtfully expanded the fitness center to include an outdoor exercise lawn – perfect for morning yoga or meditation.”
Steffen added that residents will also benefit from indoor bike storage, outdoor grilling stations, fire pits, yard games, poolside cabanas, three courtyards, a dog park with large and small dog areas, a pet wash station, and a large central dock with lakeside lounging and water access.
“Residents who are cyclists or leisure bike riders will appreciate an abundance and convenience of secured bike storage and bike tune-up spaces,” said Steffen. To ensure four-legged harmony, design planning for the dog park includes separate spaces that accommodate small and large dogs.
The indoor resident lounge features a private catering kitchen and Kombucha bar – selected for its probiotics and antioxidant health benefits.
Three-acre lake, healthy lifestyle touches
The latest living trends figure prominently around the property. Remy on the Trails is set to be one of the first properties in the city that redefines urban living. McNair Interests designed Remy on the Trails with features that development teams for luxury residences now under construction in Downtown Houston are replicating.
When marketing the property, future residents were really excited about the lake and trail access which complement a health-focused lifestyle, said Steffen. “Many also want the flexibility to work from home and have a short commute to their office and favorite retailers.”
Currently in pre-leasing, the community recently began offering in-person tours and has had several residents sign leases early to claim their preferred apartment unit location. “Those who have leased expressed excitement about the private 3-acre lake, community-wide Wi-Fi, individual working spaces in the co-work building, private garages with EV charging capability, and direct access to Terry Hershey Park Hike & Bike Trail,” said Steffen.
A location advantage built around trails and paths
According to Steffen, Westchase District had many features that attracted McNair Interests from the beginning. “In addition to close proximity to the more than 33 major employers, the location also provides direct access to Terry Hershey Park Hike & Bike Trail and Westchase District’s recently expanded bike lanes on Deerwood Road – at the front door of Remy on the Trails,” said Steffen. “Its convenient access to Beltway 8 is great for vehicular commuting. The property is also located a few miles from CityCentre, Memorial City, and the Energy Corridor.”
More to come
There’s more planned as Remy on the Trails hasn’t unveiled its final touches. “We are excited about all that Remy on the Trails has to offer,” said Steffen. “We are already starting to explore ways to further complement the community in our future phases.” In-person tours with property management can be scheduled by calling 832-789-4472.
