With Westchase District’s Woodchase Park scheduled to open this fall, the District recently provided a sneak peak event for apartment and building managers in the area. Held at the Tracy Gee Community Center, the event presented a preview of activities such as a Moving Body workshop from Alonzo Moore of Young Audiences of Houston.
Attendees met programming partners Four Dragons, who will lead Tai Chi events at the park, and Tropa Z fitness which will host Zumba, yoga and fitness boot camps. The groups enjoyed a picnic-style boxed lunch with lemonade, balloon twist art in the shape of butterflies, flowers, dogs, and even a shovel!
After meeting at the Tracy Gee Community Center, groups boarded shuttle buses that took them to the park site. On the shuttle ride to the site, park planners, and the construction and landscape architect teams, gave an overview of the park’s design features.
Once at Woodchase Park, the groups took a brief tour, walking to the dog park area and along the 7,500 square-foot activity lawn before returning to the Tracy Gee Community Center.
