Tell us who has had an impact at your organization

Westchase District will present its 4th annual Community Impact Awards in January 2022, recognizing individuals in our community who represent the best of Westchase District.

The award program was created in 2018 by the Westchase District’s Advisory Board. Nine community citizens have been recognized during the three years of the program. They include: Verita Duncan, WHAM; Blair Johnson, Blair Johnson Wellness; Tiffany Schreiber, Literacy Advance; Gwyn Buzzini; Beverly Okosun, Quillian Center; Gerry Ross, Literacy Advance; John Barton, Literacy Advance; and Rita Flores, Quillian Center.

In 2020, the Advisory Board recognized West Houston Assistance Ministries as an organization for all that its staff and volunteers had done to assist the community throughout the pandemic.

Tom Gaden, executive director of the Quillian serves as chair of the Advisory Board. “The board felt that there are many unsung heroes in Westchase District. This program seeks to recognize and honor the individuals and organizations who exemplify the best of our community.”

Nominations for the 2021 Community Impact Awards are due Friday, October 29th. Nominations can be made via this online form. The awards will be presented in January 2022 at the regular meeting of the Westchase District Advisory Board.
