Westchase District’s Trailside Park received a significant upgrade with the installation of a ZipKrooz, the first new trail amenity designed specifically for kids and teens.
The ZipKrooz allows children to safely and smoothly glide back and forth along a 30-foot track surrounded by soft mulch. Unlike other playground zip lines, ZipKrooz is a two-way ride, eliminating the need to walk the seat back to the starting point. We’ve enjoyed the Facebook posts that users have shared showing their children enjoying the ZipKrooz.
The ZipKrooz was installed, thanks to a $25,000 grant from KaBOOM!, a national non-profit “dedicated to ensuring that all kids get a childhood filled with the balanced and active play needed to thrive.”
Trailside Park is a 1/4-acre park adjacent to the HCC Campus Trail. It features a concrete trail connecting HCC Campus Trail west to Hayes.
Landscaping, a picnic table, fixed seating and a water fountain will be added to the park later this year.
Trailside Park is the latest edition to Westchase District’s 5-mile trail system.
